LIZ WHITEHEAD - CHAIRMAN & CO-FOUNDER
Liz Whitehead spent over 20 years as the Chief Executive of The British & International Federation of Festivals, the parent body for over 300 festivals of the performing arts. Now retired from that role, she is Course Director of European Youth Summer Music and a consultant on safety and risk management, particularly in work with young people, who has worked with around 200 organisations in the UK. Liz worked in education before moving to the arts, including the development of courses and qualifications. In events management, she has been responsible for many concerts, fundraisers and major celebrations with up to 4,000 performers, including five Royal events. Liz has sat on Boards of Trustees, strategic and working groups across the arts and in healthcare, having a special interest and involvement in the hospice movement.
“To work with The Company is inspiring and uplifting. The creative, administrative and pastoral team members centre every aspect of their work on the young people. With more years of working in the performing arts than I like to admit, I know that is not always the case – but, for The Company, it is about nothing else. The accolades they have received for their work are a direct result of that dedication.”
